I've always wanted to learn and play the guitar since finding my grandfather's red sunburst guitar in the basement. I started lessons at a local music shop for my 30something birthday. The instructor began teaching how to play in a paint-by-numbers fashion. I didn't feel confident in the skills of playing and quickly got discouraged. I eventually stopped the lessons. I found Bob Tabone online and thought I would give him a shot. I was hopeful after the first lesson because of the at ease atmosphere. I was ecstatic after the next lesson when I learned how to actually read music and it wasn't a notes-by-color system. Learning from Bob has been great and has restored my desire to learn the instrument I love.

I spent 10 years buying books, taking video lessons, and even taking one lesson each with 2 or 3 instructors in town, never to return for a 2nd lesson.  I gave up on instructors for a while, and then last spring found Bob through his website.   To be honest, the only reason I gave him a shot was because he wasn't far from my house!
What I found is this is a good guy, who knows the subject, and most importantly, likes to teach.  In about 8 months, Bob took me through the basics, taught me to read music, and truly got me to the point where I really can play anything I want.  I have to work at it, but without the foundation Bob gave me, there would be no chance.   I now specifically look for music that's in standard notation - I avoid tab because it's easier to read and play music from a sheet of music.   If you think this is too complicated to learn, or that all of the instructors in town really only like to hear themselves play, go see Bob.
I really had a great time learning guitar from Bob.  I’m a pianist who decided to take a crash course for Guitar.  Bob can teach you to be a pro in seven easy lessons!  No really, he is a great teacher, always making me feel good about the work I had done.  I enjoyed his proficiency at theory and his use of classic songs.  I liked his use of not only the lesson book, but also the very helpful sheets he had designed, as well as his custom CD.
With the kids on their way out into the real world, I decided it was time to spend some time on “me”.  So at 55, I decided to take up the acoustic guitar.  Bob was wonderful.  He was supportive, but yet challenging.  I truly looked forward to each ensuing weekly lesson.  After a year, he encouraged me to strike out on my own and pursue my dream of playing the guitar.  Six months later, I find myself practicing daily and pursuing that elusive goal.
Bob is great about tailoring the lessons to your rate of progress.
I'm 45 yrs old, never took music in school and I wondered if I would ever be able to read music and play at my age. Bob made me feel confident that I would be able to learn and he was right! His patience and wonderful attitude are just two out of many other reasons I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning how to play the guitar.
Bob knows how to ‘bring out the music’ in his students. He does not use a cookie-cutter approach, but rather tailors each lesson to a student’s needs. If you’re looking for value from your investment, I recommend Bob Tabone.
He helped me by telling me that I was better off stopping lessons and playing by myself with new music for a while to continue to develop my skills.  Many other instructors might have let me go on paying for lessons even though that might not have been the best thing for my development.
I will soon be playing at some ‘open mic’ nights.   Thanks to Bob I have the foundation that has allowed me to do that in about 8 months following my lessons with him.
I have to say that I was fortunate to run into Bob.  I know a lot of other people out there that have taken lessons for years and haven’t made the progress that I have been able to make.  I can assure it isn’t my innate abilities that have allowed that to happen!  It is all due to developing the fundamentals with practice and precision …. thanks to Bob.
His policies are more than fair and he works well with children.  I felt very lucky to have found him.  My son is now playing in the school jazz band!
I get lots of feedback (both good and bad) from Bob about how my son has been practicing and how he is progressing.  I would highly recommend Bob.
My son learned more from Mr. Tabone in 6 months than he did from the (local music store) in 2 years!
