About Eileen

Eileen was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, attended college at the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated with a BSN in nursing. Upon graduation, Eileen joined the Navy and moved to California. There, she met her husband, a Marine Corps Officer, and together they have lived and travelled throughout the United States and the world. Now retired, Eileen and her husband live along the Crystal Coast of North Carolina where she is joyfully engaged in her second career as a quilt artist.

Her interest in quilting began in the 1990's and has turned into a love affair that continues to grow. Although she has not had formal art training, Eileen has taken numerous classes from many internationally known quilting instructors to learn techniques and skills necessary for creating work that has a high standard of workmanship. That work is a process which is continually evolving, as she is involved with regional and international art quilt groups to keep current of trends in the fiber art world. Eileen has won numerous awards in quilt and art shows and her fiber art creations are in many private collections and public/hospital settings.

Eileen's work can be viewed at the Tidewater Gallery, Swansboro, NC; Pea Island Gallery, Salvo, NC; Mattie King Gallery, Beaufort, NC; and on her web site.
