DeTomaso Mangusta
We were fortunate to find this 1970 DeTomaso Mangusta right here in Hawaii. The second owner had it for 28 years, we are it's third owners. It is a rust free car in mostly original condition with only 24,000 miles on the clock. We discovered this one while recruiting members for the local POCA chapter and it became our third "child". The car came with jet hot coated headers and exhaust, upgraded radiator and puller fans, MSD ignition, aluminum coil over adjustable shocks, and a Holley carburetor. We've lowered the front of the car quite a bit since getting her. The previous owner had the front end raised up high as can be seen in the linked video. We've pulled the drivetrain, cleaned her up a bit and added a small cam and regasketed the entire engine. The clutch and pressure plate have been changed to McCleod and Hays units. We added a modified oil; pan which sits safely up in the frame and fabricated a guard for the lower bell housing. The Mangusta is such a low car that it all scraped on even the lowest bumps. She is a head turner, everyone stops to look.
