Blood Donor Program
News
The
Masonic Blood Donor Program Committee is having another successful year.
However, we need you and your brethren, friends, and family to continue
to recognize that the “Gift of Life” can only be provided by caring and
concerned individuals who donate on a regular basis. The maintenance of
an adequate and safe community blood supply is part of our responsibility.
Let’s help meet it!
AS
A BLOOD DONOR
Do
not forget! The need of Blood does not discriminate, i.e., Mason or non-Mason!
You never know when you, or a loved one, might need to make withdrawal
from a blood bank, so you had better begin making some deposits!

Joint
2nd and 3rd Degrees
Brothers,
I have been asked
by W.M. Dave Parker and W.M. Clark Johnston to co-ordinate a joint 2nd
and 3rd degree for St.
Lawrence 111 and Massena 513. Here is
the plan as of as of this time/date:
2nd Degree...November
17, 2009
in Canton
Wild Game Dinner,
6:30pm
The 2nd Degree will
be held in Canton on November 17, 2009. There will be a dinner at 6:30
p.m. The degree will be at 7:30 p.m. with one candidate from S.L.111 and
two from Massena 513. S.W. Ken Hebb will be in the East for the degree
and R.W. Bud Latimer will be doing the Middle Chamber Lecture. I
will be talking to officers and brothers from both Lodges to fill the other
chairs during the degree itself. S.L.111 officers will open/close Lodge
as the home Lodge.
NOTE: Practice will be at
the Lodge in Canton on Monday Night November 16, at 7:00 pm! |
3rd Degree...December
8, 2009 in Massena
Practice for
the 3rd Degree
1st Tuesday
in December, Dec. 1 at 7:30 in Massena
The 3rd degree gets
even larger. Besides the 3 candidates from S.L. 111 and Massena 513,
Amber
395 will be bringing one candidate and High
Falls 428 will do the same....a total of 5 brothers in waiting
for the 3rd degree.
Massena
will also host a dinner that eve, with details to come later.
Since we have 4
Lodges involved there will be a large cast of brothers needed for both
the Degree and the Hiramic Legend part of this Degree. I have been asked
by both Masters to be in the East for the Degree and I will be working
with all four Masters to get their brothers involved in all aspects of
this degree. Since I have worked with the Master's from all 4 Lodges this
year, I am sure we will have excellent degree work from all selected.
Massena 513 officers will open/close Lodge as the home Lodge.
Practice for
the 3rd Degree
1st Tuesday
in December, Dec. 1 at 7:30 in Massena
Since St.
Lawrence 111 usually has their meeting on the 1st Tuesday in December,
Dec. 1, it makes perfect sense for all Brothers from all 4 Lodges who
will be in degree to meet at Massena at 7:30 p.m. for a practice. |
What a great
opportunity to fill both Lodge's with Brothers from all over our District
and of course to show our candidates what Masonry in St. Lawrence County
can be about.
Feel free to contact
me anytime and I will be emailing you as events get closer.
Fraternally,
TOM JENISON,
Assistant Grand
Lecturer

Lodge recently held it's annual awards night where several brothers were
recognized for their years of service. This year a special recognition
was given to Gordon Spearance, who recieved the very prestigious Grand
Lodge Dedicated Service Award. The recipient of this award must meet several
criteria ranging from lodge involvment, district involvment and community
involvment. Once submitted for approval to the Grand Lodge Committee for
review only one Brother per Masonic District is selected to recieve this
award out of all submissions. Shown above is Past Master William Shoen,

Our
total over a 16-month period is 1220 and climbing!
Many thanks go out
to everyone for all of your help and assistance, from running to
get and deliver equipment, surveying sites, recruiting & coordinating
help, setting up and taking down, as well as manning the booths and dealing
with the crowds. We have early mornings and late evenings, and in
the end, it is well worth it! After all, this program is one
way we can let the public know what Masons do and why good men want to
be a part of it.
My heartfelt thanks
to everyone involved (too many to list...you know who you are!)
